Salute to Community Bands 2018 Schedule (50 minute performances)

11:00 am: East Fort Worth Jazz Band - Kathy Bernal, Director

12:15 am: Rockwall Community Band - Mike McGill, Director

1:30 pm: Greater Ft Worth Community Band - Christine Beason, Director

2:45 pm: Allen Community Band - Craig Logan, Director

4:00 pm: Mansfield Wind Symphony - Brian Merrill, Director

5:15 pm: Irving Symphonic Band - Jay Bach, Director

7:00 pm: Arlington Community Band - Rick Baker, Director


In its eighth season, Salute to Community Band 2018 is presenting seven all-volunteer bands in free concerts for the public. Players might be a band director, private instrumental teacher, lawyer, engineer, college student, CPA, nurse, computer geek, retired, homemaker, church musician and more.

Enjoy a full day of concert band music presented by the Arlington Community Band and hosted by the UTA bands.

UTA's Maverick Dance Company Presents VIA DANCE Spring 2018


Maverick Dance Company presents VIA DANCE, a collection of new, entertaining and progressive dance works running May 4th, 5th, and 6th, 2018. The concert title, VIA DANCE, is based on a perspective that through dance, we can communicate what is often challenging to put into words, that dance can simultaneously speak many languages and connect us on a visceral level. VIA DANCE includes a variety dance styles including modern, dance theatre, tap, hip-hop, musical theatre jazz, circus acts, and dance film.

Please join the Maverick Dance Company for their spring concert May 4th and 5th at 8:00 pm and May 6th at 2:30 pm, 2018. They will perform at the Mainstage Theatre (Room 174, Fine Arts Bldg. North) located at 502 South Cooper Street on the UT Arlington campus. Tickets are $8 for students w/ID or $10 general admission.

World Premiere of UTA's Playwright-in-Residence Original Work - 100 Brains

MAVPLAYS 2018 spotlights a world premiere, original literary work, 100 BRAINS, written by UTA’s playwright-in-residence, Dr. Natalie Gaupp.

100 BRAINS features a recent college grad pursuing her dream job…right down a rabbit hole of horrifying consequences. 100 BRAINS has a familiar theme, combining elements of the traditional Alice in Wonderland story with a modern (and edgy!) sci-fi twist. Let the brains begin! Directed by Professor and Associate Department Chair Andrew Christopher Gaupp, written by playwright-in-residence, Senior Lecturer Dr. Natalie Gaupp and performed by UTA Maverick Theatre Company members.

Production dates: April 18, 19, 20, 21 at 8:00 pm, April 22 at 2:30 pm, 2018. Performances of MAVPLAYS 2018 100 BRAINS are presented at 502 S. Enjoy a Musical Evening in Italy with Timeless Concerts at the Arlington Musuem of Art

One reason people love Timeless Concerts is because of the extreme variety at each concert!

EVENING IN ITALY is the theme for Sat. April 21 at 8pm at the Arlington Museum of Art. The Chenoweth-Hood-Kang Trio and tenor Sergio Cepeda with guest violist Miguel Cantu will perform music of Vivaldi, Puccini and Verdi arias, plus movie themes by Nino Rota and even some pieces by Italian-American, Henry Mancini!
