Fielder House Butterfly Garden Tour and Lecture

Brought to you by the Arlington Garden Club

Evening in Germany with Beethoven and Brahms

Timeless Concerts, a non-profit organization bringing beautiful music to Tarrant County, presents an Evening in Germany with Beethoven and Brahms at the Botanical Research Institute of Texas. The concert begins at 8pm on Saturday July 16, 2016.

Two beloved composers, Ludwig Beethoven, and Johannes Brahms, will be featured in this concert, performed by (photo left to right) soprano Judith Rodriguez, tenor Don O’Neal LeBlanc, violinist LeeAnne Chenoweth, pianist Heejung Kang, and cellist Karen Smith. In 1782, before the age of twelve, Beethoven published his first works. The following year, Gottlob Neefe, wrote in “The Magazine of Music”: “If he continues like this, he will be without a doubt, the new Mozart”. Beethoven went on to write nine symphonies, hundreds of small ensemble works, operas and vocal solos. Seldom heard, beautiful Beethoven songs will be performed at this concert, as well as other German arias and art songs. Brahms, widely considered one of the 19th century’s greatest composers and the leading musician of the Romantic era, wrote passionate works for the trio of violin, cello and piano that Timeless Concerts will be performing, as well as his lively Hungarian dances. The one hour concert will be followed by a complimentary fruit, cheese and dessert buffet and a cash bar, accompanied by pianist Steve Stroud who takes requests.

You can purchase your tickets online. Ticket prices: $29 general, $25 senior 60+, $15 college student, youth age 11-17 may attend free. $35 combo ticket includes admission and raffle ticket (drawing is for 2 free tickets to the next concert or photography sitting and framed photo by Dennis Hevia Photography).
