30 Americans Art Exhibit is Presented by the Arlington Museum of Art
The Arlington Museum of Art is proud to announce it’s exhibition for the summerof 2021, 30 Americans. This will be the second exhibition that the AMA has received from the renowned Rubell Museum (the first being Keith Haring: Against All Odds, one of the most successful exhibits in AMA’s history). 30 Americans showcases works by 30 emerging and established African American artists of the last three decades.
“The second collaboration with the Rubell Museum in Miami, solidifies our relationship and allowsus to bring important art to the North Texas region. The exhibit will push the limits of our space and returning visitors will be surprised by the scale and scope of the exhibit while introducing them to new galleries. Including a variety of styles and a broad array of visual art, there's something for everyone in this exhibit. We decided to bring this exhibit to Arlington to provide more individual access to art that will inspire and engage ever growing audiences” says AMA Board President Dr. Christopher Hightower.
This acclaimed exhibition focuses on issues of race, sexuality, gender and historical identity in contemporary culture while exploring the powerful influence of artistic legacy and community across generations. Curated by the Rubell Museum, the exhibit includes works by Jean-Michel Basquiat, Mickalene Thomas, Kara Walker, Carrie Mae Weems, and Kehinde Wiley. The exhibition features works from a variety of mediums including painting, sculpture, photography, video, and installation. While some works probe the notion of racial and social difference in a candid manner, others evoke universal concepts and emotions using a sophisticated blend of visual beauty, humor, and irony.
“This is an important exhibit that will undoubtedly spark conversation about race in America. It comes at a time when race and social justice issues are at the top of people's minds on a day to day basis. We are proud to present this profound exhibit that highlights the most important African-American artists since 1990” says 30 Americans Committee Chair and CEO for the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation Tonya Veasey.
Mera Rubell, of the Rubell Museum, states that “30 Americans is a celebration of the artists we collected over a 30 year period and their work never stops addressing the common humanity in all of us. The Keith Haring exhibition was the first of our collaborations with the Arlington Museum of Art and now we are excited to continue with 30 Americans." Likewise, the AMA is thrilled to continue their relationship with the Rubell and bring this remarkable exhibit to DFW.

Timeless Concerts - Music Along the Orient Express
Timeless Concerts' Saturday, September 26, 8pm concert theme is “Music along the Orient Express!” The famous train route ran from Istanbul to Paris and then… crossed the English channel! How? The train cars were put on a boat! For the final part of the musical journey, they will welcome you to England with the theme of the Downton Abbey drama series, plus play music of the 1900s that would have been heard by the residents there, at the time portrayed. Along the “route”, enjoy French composers Ravel and Claude-Michel Schonberg (of Les Miserables fame), Wolfgang Mozart and Franz Lehar of Austria, Zolton Kodaly of Hungary and more. Concert performers include pianists Kathy Abrahamson and Erik Barnes, (Erik will also entertain post-concert) cellist Jim Higgins, violist Tim Angel, tenor Don O’Neal LeBlanc, and violinist LeeAnne Chenoweth.
Location: Arlington Museum of Art. Social distance table seating (temperature check taken at entrance), covered dessert plates provided, BYOB accepted, complimentary wine/soft drinks. Visit Timeless Concerts' website for more info and to purchase tickets. Seating limited to 80, so don't delay!
Added note: Timeless Concerts has decided to postpone their Nov. 14 concert until 2021. Due to a cap on audience capacity, and therefore, ticket income, they decided that performing another low capacity socially distanced concert would put them into debt. Wanting to avoid this and be fiscally responsible, they have sadly decided to take a break until Feb. 2021 when they hope they can once again sell tickets to full capacity at the museum. They thank their sponsors and guests for the added support that has made it possible to perform in both July and September during these covid times!

Timeless Concerts presents "Sergei and the Seasons!" Saturday, Sept. 21, 2019 at the Arlington Museum of Art
Timeless Concerts will be celebrating two famous composers with the first name of Sergei, Sergei Rachmaninoff and Sergei Prokofiev.
Music by Sergei Rachmaninoff was played in the movie "Seven Year Itch", starring Marilyn Monroe, and more recently in movies such as "Somewhere in Time" and "My Best Friend's Wedding." Rachmaninoff not only composed the greatest and most beautiful piano concertos, but also songs. Tenor Don O'Neal LeBlanc will perform some of these songs, and soprano Judith Rodriguez will sing "Vocalise", all accompanied by pianist Dr. Heejung Kang, violinist LeeAnne Chenoweth, and cellist Dr. Sara Birnbaum Hood. Dr. Kang will also perform a piano solo by Rachmaninoff.
The instrumental trio will perform music by the other Sergei, Sergei Prokofiev. They will play his "Romeo and Juliet Suite" and music in chamber music form from his most famous score for ballet. Timeless Concerts will also perform some colorful music that describes the seasons.
There will be a post-concert party as usual with complimentary wine and soft drinks, fruit/cheese/desserts buffet, and pianist Erik Barnes will take your requests. More information is available on the Timeless Concerts website and tickets can be purchased here. Concert begins at 8:00 pm, doors open no earlier than 7:30.

Timeless Concerts Presents a Casual Concert at the Arlington Museum of Art July 20.
Casual night at the museum! Tenors without tuxes! Come as you are; shorts or sundresses, Hawaiian shirts or caftans. The performers will all be casual, too. Come enjoy this different kind of Timeless Concerts evening, at the lower level amphitheater at the Arlington Museum of Art, Saturday, July 20, 2019.
The wonderful must-see Keith Haring exhibit on the main floor gallery will be standing where Timeless Concerts usually places the grand piano and table seating, so the concert had to make some adjustments. They'll be back in the main gallery Sept. 21. If you've been to a concert before, and looked over the iron railing by the back window, then you have seen the stage they'll be using.
Tenors Don O'Neal LeBlanc and Sergio Cepeda, plus soprano Judith Rodriguez, will select their favorite things to sing. There will also be some interesting gypsy-ish pieces for their instrumental trio selections, as well as German classics. There will be a joyful music party as always. Post-concert, Erik Barnes will be the pianist, and his music will be flowing throughout the three levels of the museum, as the lower level is open to the very top. Wine and soft drinks will be served.
Enjoy browsing the exhibit after the concert. Get your tickets soon, as there is less seating than usual.
