Two Performances by Timeless Concerts of Music of Dance!

Music of Dance will have its first performance on Saturday, September 24 in Ft. Worth at the Holt Hickman Center in the Belltower Chapel on Wichita Street.

Timeless Concerts will perform the music of dances through the ages, from the menuet, to waltzes and tangos from composers as diverse as Rossini of Italy, Shostakovich of Russia, Ravel of France, plus Piazzolla and Villoldo of Argentina. They will be accompanied by professional dancers James Gonzales and Lydia Cabrera, from the Arthur Murray School of Dance, Ft Worth, on a couple of special selections. Their vocalists will sing beautiful songs of Mexico, Italy and musicals. As usual, Erik Barnes will provide post-concert music on the piano and take your requests. BYOB is accepted at this location. Timeless Concerts will provide complimentary wine by the glass, soft drinks, and a few snack items including Pixie Popcorn. There is table seating for up to 11, or private tables for 2.

The Music of Dance will be performed again by Timeless Concerts on Saturday October 1 in Arlington at Show Me the Monet art gallery on south Cooper in Gracie Lane. Enjoy the same music that was performed the previous week, but in a small intimate setting surrounded by beautiful art in the Show Me The Monet gallery of fine art. Seating will be recital style rather than table seating with only 50 unassigned seats available. (Unfortunately there is no room for the dancers in this setting.) Complimentary wine by the glass and soft drinks will be provided.

Timeless Concerts Presents Spain to Latin America

Timeless Concerts will be back at the Rose Garden Tea Room on Sat. April 23, 8 pm to perform their Spain to Latin America concert.

Tenor Sergio Cepeda and soprano Sabrina Romero-Wilson perform romantic and charming songs of Latin America, and Zarzuela of Spain (Spanish traditional musical comedy). Timeless Concerts has permission by Héctor Armienta, the composer of "Zorro", the opera premiered by the Ft Worth Opera Company, to perform a duet from his opera and arrange the accompaniment for their instrumentalists. Pianist Heejung Kang, violinist LeeAnne Chenoweth, violist Tim Angel and cellist Oliver Schlaffer will perform the 3 movement quartet of Joaquin Turina of Spain (1890-1949), as well as works of Astor Piazzolla of Argentina (1921-1992), Manuel Ponce (1882-1948) of Mexico and more. As usual, the post-concert party will feature pianist Erik Barnes, and complimentary soft drinks, wine and snacks will be provided.

Seating is assigned in order of ticket purchases; those who purchase tickets early will have seats closer to the performers than those who buy later. Also, if wanting to be seated in a group, please purchase tickets as a group, or write in the "notes" the name of the person you would like to join. One youth may attend free per paying adult, but please let them know if bringing a youth so there are enough seats provided. The venue is set up for tables for 8, or private tables for 2.

Valentine's Candlelight Jazz Concert in Downtown Arlington

Catalyst Creative Arts will present a Valentine's Candlelight Jazz concert featuring Arlington's Sky Quartet in its Listening Room. The quartet will perform romantic jazz standards and brilliant jazz arrangements of pop music.

The Listening Room is Catalyst's studio with everything cleared out. There is seating for up to 44 people at these events. The mood is set by only lighting the room with about 200 LED candles around the players on the stage.

Doors open at 8:30PM. Music starts promptly at 9PM. Tickets can be purchased through Catatlyst Creative Arts' website calendar. For this event, each ticket includes a delicious Valentine's dessert box made by Dewey Girls Sweets.

An Evening in Italy Provided by Timeless Concerts in Downtown Arlington on April 24

Evening in Italy is coming up April 24 at 8 pm at the Arlington Museum of Art with music by Italian composers that span centuries, from the early music of Rossini and Paganini, to Italian-American Henry Mancini. Italians love their opera so Timeless Concerts' tenors Don O'Neal LeBlanc and Sergio Cepeda will sing opera's greatest hits from Puccini to Verdi. Find out which opera aria has been performed in 18 different movies! Also, learn how a famous piano concerto by Russian composer Sergei Rachmaninov was based on a theme by Paganini. Timeless Concerts' instrumentalists are pianists Heejung Kang and Erik Barnes, violinist/violist Tim Angel, cellist Oliver Schlaffer and violinist LeeAnne Chenoweth.

Timeless Concerts' performers hope with all the losses our audience has endured this past year, that they can provide an event that everyone can look forward to enjoying. Tickets for Evening in Italy are now live on their website. Beautiful music and time spent together, is more important than ever and healing. Although Timeless Concerts is very sad that they didn't perform our annual "Valentines Special and Fundraiser," they say they are blessed, because their nonprofit organization is surviving, and will perform a great concert on April 24!

Timeless Concerts is pretty certain that covid restrictions will be required in late April when they perform with things expected to be the same as when they performed two socially distanced concerts in July and September of 2020, such as temperatures possibly be taken at the entrance, masks required when not at your table, only an audience of 70, and covered dessert plates on the individual tables instead of the traditional buffet. Hopefully, their July 10 concert can be maskless and back to normal.

Baylor Orthopedic & Spine Hospital presents Robert Earl Keen Friday, June 23, at Levitt Pavilion Arlington for a paid-ticket concert. The evening begins at 7:30 p.m. with popular Texas artist, Cory Morrow. Robert Earl Keen's concert begins at 9 p.m. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 21, through the Levitt’s website. Tickets are $65 for reserved VIP seating at the front of the lawn and $35 for general admission seating. All ticket sales are online.

Three decades after the release of his debut album, "No Kinda Dancer," with 18 recordings to his name and thousands of shows in his rear-view mirror, Keen has blazed a peer-, critic- and fan-lauded trail that’s earned him living legend status in Americana music and at home in Texas. It was 1989’s "West Textures" album, and the debut of “The Road Goes On Forever” in particular, that kicked Keen's career into high gear. His literate songwriting and razor wit created a grassroots following for instant classics like “Corpus Christi Bay,” “Whenever Kindness Fails,” “Gringo Honeymoon,” “Dreadful Selfish Crime” and “Merry Christmas From the Family.” Proceeds from the Robert Earl Keen concert help the Levitt provide more than 50 free concerts for everyone to enjoy.

The Dallas Chamber Symphony Presents an Evening of Music by American Composers

The Dallas Chamber Symphony will present an evening of music by American composers on Tuesday, February 21, featuring some of the most distinctive and iconic works and artists to shape the trajectory of music and film within the last 100 years.

The program begins with Ingram Marshall’s most famous work – one that would establish him as a preeminent composer of electro-acoustic music. Fog Tropes, written in 1982 for brass sextet, utilizes a recorded tape track and extended brass techniques to create the sounds of boats and foghorns heard in a foggy shipping channel. It’s derived from the works of minimalists and electro-acousticians such as Steve Reich, Terry Riley and John Adams.

Keven Puts’ Seven Seascapes, by contrast, is purely acoustic, and it conjures images of the sea through a more subtle and poetic musical language rendered by a mixed chamber ensemble of six members. A programmatic piece inspired in part from selected works of English and American poets, the piece has a fresh and modern sound, rooted in nostalgia and a style reminiscent of the sea-inspired works of Benjamin Britten.

Following intermission, the orchestra will screen a new score to Charlie Chaplin’s THE KID, written by Craig Safan, who is perhaps best known for scoring THE LAST STARFIGHTER (1984). A veteran of the film industry and an award-winning composer, Safan promises to bring a fresh sound to Chaplin’s first feature-length (50 minutes) silent comedy-drama film written, produced, directed, and starring Chaplin and featuring Jackie Coogan at 6 years old. Safan will attend the event, and he will be available to meet audience members and sign autographs.

“This evening is sure to be a novel concert experience, rich with creative and innovative sounds written by a mix of very important American composers,” says Richard McKay, conductor and artistic director of the Dallas Chamber Symphony. “Almost everything on the program will be new to our audience; and with such a fun variety of pieces, we expect they will enjoy every minute of it.”

The performance will be held on Tuesday, February 21, at Dallas City Performance Hall (2520 Flora St., Dallas, Texas 75201) at 8 p.m.. Timeless Concerts Presents an Evening at Downton Abbey

Many are sad that the Downton Abbey series on PBS is ending! Chamber music ensembles, such as our trio, performed often in the parlors of homes like Downton Abbey. During the late Edwardian era the series portrays, there was much rich, romantic music composed in London, by composers such as William Hurlstone (1876-1906), a pianist, composer and teacher at the Royal Academy of Music in London. His composition style reflected his love of Brahms and Schubert. Timeless Concerts will perform Hurlstone’s trio in G. Also popular at the time, composer Ralph Vaughan Williams (1872-1958), wrote beautiful songs that will be sung by their tenor, Don O’Neal LeBlanc, and soprano Judith Rodriguez. The musicians will be in period costume and invite you to come dressed from the era as well.

Arlington Symphoy to Begin its 2015-2016 Season

Discover a beautiful blend of French impressionism, English pastoral melody, and Irish folk tunes in the music of Ernest Moeran (1894-1950), often called the “Vaughan Williams of Ireland”! Timeless Concerts will also play the seldom heard Moeran piano trio in D Major. Some jigs and reels will be included, of course!
